As one of recently appeared concepts in the field of power systems, virtual power plants(VPPs) have been deployed increasingly all over the world. VPP is introduced as tool for aggregating a number of distributed energy resources, energy storages, and flexible loads for operating them as a single power plant in different energy markets. However, with the advent of cogeneration units and multi-carrier energy based systems, there is a need for updating the conventional structure of VPPs to provide more flexibility to the system. To this end, in this thesis, a cluster of multi-energy systems, energy storages, renewable energy sources, boilers, and multi-energy loads are aggregated in a new model of VPP to participate in multiple energy markets. The aim of this thesis is to maximize the daily profit of the proposed VPP in multiple energy markets.
