Thesis title: Optimal sizing of multi carrier energy storages in energy hub

M.Sc. period: 2018-2020

The increasing development of small generation resources in recent years and the emergence of interdependencies between different energy carriers have led researchers to conclude that for planning and operating energy systems, it is better to consider different infrastructures in an integrated form rather than separately. In other words, the best strategy to achieve the mentioned aims is to see these infrastructures all in one piece. To create cooperation and pairing (integration) between different energy carriers, appropriate tools are needed. Recently, the concept of Hub Energy has been introduced to integrate multiple energy carriers. These units can convert, transfer, and store various forms of energy. Generally, integrating different energy infrastructures can result in many benefits such as increased reliability, improved efficiency, reduced network peaks, and decreased pollutant emissions.
