Morteza Nazari-Heris received the best bachelor thesis award in IEA Second International Conference on Technology and Energy (2015). His bachelor thesis, titled “Optimal placement of phasor measurement units to attain power system observability utilizing an upgraded binary harmony search algorithm”, selected as the best bachelor thesis in IEA Second International Conference on Technology and Energy. Thesis Supervisor was Dr. Behnam Mohammadi-Ivatloo, Assistant professor of Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering. In the area of his bachelor thesis, He has published one review paper in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews”, which is titled "Application of heuristic algorithms to optimal PMU placement in electric power systems: An updated review”. In addition, he has published "Optimal placement of phasor measurement units to attain power system observability utilizing an upgraded binary harmony search algorithm” in “Energy Systems”. In addition, He presented "Optimal placement of phasor measurement units in Iran power network considering a novel pricing strategy of placement of phasor measurement units in different buses" in 4th International Congress on Electric Industry Automation, Tabriz, Iran (2016).
